Burma is a country west of Thailand on the Bay of Bengal. The land has a total area of 676,590 km² and a total coastline of 1,930 km. This area is approximately 97% of the area of Texas. The country has about 1,000 partially uninhabited islands. There are direct national borders with the 5 neighbouring countries Bangladesh, China, India, Laos and Thailand. The distance between New York City and the Capital Nay Pyi Taw is about 13,230 km.Due to its political and financial situation, Burma is considered one of the least developed countries in the world. Climate
The climate in BurmaIn Burma, as in all equatorial countries, there is a tropical climate. Unlike in Europe or the USA, there is almost no difference between the seasons. The daylight hours vary little, and the temperature differences between summer and winter are also lesser. Depending on the season, the average daytime temperatures range between 29 and 36 degrees. In some parts of the country the temperature raises up to 39 °C. In the colder months and depending in the region, the temperature lowers down to 14°C in a month's average.
