Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa on Lake Victoria. The land has a total area of 241,550 km². This area is approximately 60% of the area of California. There is no access to the open sea. There are direct national borders with the 5 neighbouring countries Congo (Dem. Republic), Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan and Tanzania. The distance between New York City and the Capital Kampala is about 11,380 km.Due to its political and financial situation, Uganda is considered one of the least developed countries in the world. and is also one of the heavily indebted poor countries.
