Uzbekistan is a landlocked country in Central Asia. The land has a total area of 447,400 km². This area is approximately 111% of the area of California. There is no access to the open sea. There are direct national borders with the 5 neighbouring countries Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
