Tanzania is a country between the great lakes of East Africa and the Indian Ocean. The land has a total area of 947,300 km² and a total coastline of 1,424 km. This area is approximately 136% of the area of Texas. The country has about 30 islands. There are direct national borders with the 8 neighbouring countries Burundi, Congo (Dem. Republic), Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia. The distance between New York City and the Capital Dodoma is about 12,120 km.Due to its political and financial situation, Tanzania is considered one of the least developed countries in the world. and is also one of the heavily indebted poor countries.

The climate in TanzaniaIn Tanzania, as in all equatorial countries, there is a tropical climate. Unlike in Europe or the USA, there is almost no difference between the seasons. The daylight hours vary little, and the temperature differences between summer and winter are also lesser. Depending on the season, the average daytime temperatures range between 29 and 31 degrees.
